Debbie Does San Diego

Debbie Kuroiwa, from Etc., Etc., Etc., who many of us know and love, will be in San Diego (from Japan) in August. She is staying with her friend Lauren (who knows Aaryn--small world). I am arranging a get-together for her at my house on Friday, August 14.

I wanted to get this out early as I know summer is busy. Debbie is fine with either a no-kids gathering or a with-kids gathering. I'm okay with either one as well, so I thought I'd see what you all would prefer.

Let me know if you'll be around and whether you prefer including children or not by commenting on this post--hopefully this way I'll avoid, as Kate says, "death by e-mail string."

FOUND

Bad Mom just had FOUND visit her school and loved the performance. Following her mandate to see if they were performing in our area, I FOUND that they will be performing at The Ruby Room on June 20. Is anyone else interested in going? (See Deb, I can leave the suburbs to do fun and quirky things!). Let me know what you think.

San Diego Mom's Nite Out

[Editor's Note: "Nite" is intentionally misspelled for impactful and marketingesque reasons.

Whatever that means.]

OK! So Mel and I are putting together a San Diego Mom's Nite Out for May 7th from 6-9PM. And here's the thing: no one is coming. As in only 14 people are coming. As in we have 3,000 giveaway prizes and 201 pieces of swag. So that works out to 228.62340 items per person, and there is no swag bag big enough.

Also, 2 of those 14 people are me and Mel.

What I'm trying to say is (a) consider attending so we save face or (b) donate a chartered jet for the swag.

Here's the flyer.

MemorialBitchFest

Next Door 2 My Ex (aka Mary Ellen) is coming to our fair city soon. She has lawyerly business to conduct, but will be available for bitching and partying on May 23. So . . . party at my house on Saturday. I'm opening this up to whoever can make it--I'm counting on you bitches that will be in town for sure. If any other San Diego or SoCal bloggers want to join us, that would be great (Yo, She, JCK, Jason, etc.!)

I haven't nailed down all the details, so feel free to provide input as to time (if you can make late, but not early or vice-versa). I will be all done with school (as in I will be throwing my mortarboard into the air the Saturday before), so I can be very accommodating!

Talk to me peeps! You can comment here or email me at Jennatjugglinglife@gmail.com.

Gary Blows

The Bitches love Gary Rith.

He is happily married (Hi Mrs. Potter! We love you too!), and so are some of the Bitches, so we don't love Gary that way. Gosh.

He is a potter. A talented potter. He creates for special occasions, and special pets. He takes custom orders, all sorts. He is a hotter potter.

He is kind to animals.

He makes children smile.

He champions equal rights.

He has a tres cool blog.

He has hot potter friends (check out his blogroll). Just sayin' . . .

And Gary blows. Yes. He blows.

See for yourself:

Courage Campaign

Chris, Bill, and their children

Look into the eyes of Chris, Bill, and their two children, and then look deep into your heart. If you believe that the beautiful family pictured deserves the same legal protection under the law that families with heterosexual parents enjoy, then please visit the Courage Campaign website and sign the petition before the submission deadline on February 14, 2009.

From the Courage Campaign website:
On December 19, 2008, Ken Starr and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund filed legal briefs defending the constitutionality of Prop 8 and seeking to nullify the marriages of 18,000 devoted same-sex couples solemnized before Prop 8 passed.

The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in this case on March 5, with a decision expected within 90 days. [A]sk that the Court enforce the equality promised to each of us by our constitution and invalidate Prop 8.

(The photo by the swimming pool above was taken at Cheri's home. You can read more about Chris and Bill's family over at Blog This Mom!.)

Published

Have you seen this?  We could all be, like, published and shit.  Who cares if it's us doing the publishing?  And who cares if the coffee table is the only one to see it on actual paper.  Because your books, my bitches, would simply rock.
